Understanding the design requirements, construction pitfalls, and operating challenges of buildings is important for a safe, functional, and satisfying community. New and existing buildings need to be designed, built, and operated with technical acumen and fiscal discipline. The underlying premise of these needs are rooted in understanding the principle requirements of separators, the loads they need to resist, and the impact operational decisions may have. The presentation will address the requirements and challenges of competing interests and position designers, constructors, and operators of buildings to maximize value for the communities they serve.
